Hello

Danielle here, just wanted to introduce myself and explain why I am creating art. My husband Paul bought some art materials mainly paints from an auction several years ago.I fell over the shopping baskets with the paints in ;prompting me to say to him we ought to do some art.

So we did ! Then I discovered that I really enjoyed acrylic painting, both on paper and canvas. Since then I haven’t really stopped. I am an accidental artist who discovered painting in my 60s wishing I had tried before but as the saying goes better late than never.

The pictures on this blog are not in date order just as I want to tell their story. I am also going to discuss art and visits to galleries. Apologies in advance, we have a very large long-haired black cat called Sidney whom we adore, he will feature heavily in my posts. I also adore all animals and support many rescues especially: C.A.T.S Rescue Gloucestershire and Swindon please check them out🐈‍⬛💜https://www.catsrescue.co.uk

The art work below is called “Spring Vase”(2026). I know not a very original title as I have painted quite a few paintings some times I struggle to come up with quirky ideas for titles.

The painting is on Windsor and Newton, acrylic paper size 16in x 20in. The picture is based on a paper vase with purple & yellow artificial flowers that I bought over twenty years ago in Chepstow, UK.
